That approval be given to the Council’s contribution of funding for the Speech and Language Therapy Service (totalling £389,800) to be included in the Council’s overall Section 76 agreement with the local Clinical Commissioning Group.

The pooling of local authority and CCG resource will simplify and clarify the responsibilities of the Speech and Language Therapy Service and will result in a more robust and efficient contract monitoring process that will allow the local authority to hold the provider to account more easily.
