This decision is to increase investment in the Youth Sector in Westminster. It addresses concern within the youth sector that there is an increase in demand for services and growing complexity of need.

Recommendations

The Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Young People, Learning and Leisure has approved the funding proposals detailed within this paper, for the next 3 financial years, from 1^st April 2023 to 31^st March 2026, at a total cost of £536,000 per annum.

Reasons for Decision 

A set of funding proposals were developed in response to concerns within the youth sector, to meet an increase in demand and complexity of need. These proposals need to sit alongside and compliment specialist and statutory services, that are also experiencing an increase in demand as well as complexity of need. Further investment within the youth sector is necessary to prevent additional pressure on these statutory and specialist services.
