Summary of Decision: The Cabinet Member for Children and Public Protection has taken the decision to approve the renewal of the Public Space Protection Order to tackle anti-social vehicle use on the same terms as the current order.
Reason for Decision: The Council has had statutory powers to create a PSPO since 2014. PSPOs are designed to counteract activity or behaviour which may have a detrimental effect on the quality of life of those in the locality; is, or is likely to be, persistent or continuing in nature; and justifies the reasons imposed. The Cabinet Member approved the renewal of the order to ensure that anti-social driving in this area of the borough can continue to be tackled.
