The current contract was awarded to Medequip as part of the London Community Equipment Consortium framework in April 2017 for a period of 4 years with the option of a 1 + 1 extension to supply community and specialist equipment for Adults and Children. The London Community Equipment Consortium is hosted by the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and under the Bi-Borough arrangements, Westminster will lead on the re-procurement of the Consortium Framework. The Consortium is currently made up of 21 London Boroughs, with an average total net spend of £88m, with Westminster’s sovereign contract annual net spend equating to an average of £1.8m; the new framework will be for a period of 5 years with the option of a 1 + 1 extension.
