Reviewing and updating the Council’s minimum income guarantee (MIG)

The Minimum Income Guarantee (MIG) sets out the level of income people need to retain to cover their living costs, after making contributions to the cost of their care based on an individual financial assessment. Under the Care Act 2014, homecare charges must not reduce people’s income below that amount.  The Council’s current Minimum Income Guarantee is due for review as part of the budget setting process.
